The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me! Today on a whim – and somewhat surprised it was available – I paid for rights to my “onehutmama” domain name. One Hut Mama evolved more than a year ago from my notion that one day, when I’m too old or unable to trek on trails, that I might like to be a hut host . . . perhaps that person who has a hot meal and cold beer ready for weary trekkers after a long day on a trail? Who knows what the future holds, but it’s a thought!

I love this photo of the Maroon Bells in the Elk Mountains about 12 miles south of Aspen.

We trekked along the West Maroon Pass trail and into the Crested Butte area, about an 11-mile spectacular wildflower hike. Because I love maps, here’s a simplified one of the hike:

And I’m thinking we all have a story or two to share? I look forward to getting to know you!

The quote below is my most favorite quote ever. When I die, I would like a memory bench placed somewhere on a beautiful trail with this quote on it.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

– a famous Chinese proverb
